Ever since I turned 30, my skin looks red and blotchy. What’s going on?

Brunilda Nazario, MD, the senior medical editor at WebMD Health Network says you could have rosacea, a skin condition marked by flushing around the face and neck that typically doesn’t occur until age 30 or later. The “I just ran five miles” appearance can be provoked by extreme heat or cold, alcohol, or anxiety; people with pale skin, light eyes, or fair hair run the highest risk. There’s no test for rosacea, but if you think you have it, talk to your doctor about treatments such as benzoyl peroxide cream, blood pressure medication, or antibiotics.
